SharePoint Integration

Your SharePoint content —
available to every AI agent

UCM connects natively to SharePoint. AI agents search, read, and act on your documents — respecting permissions automatically. No migration. No duplication. No shadow copies.

The Reality

Your knowledge is already in SharePoint

Most organisations store their real knowledge in SharePoint — policies, procedures, project documentation, reports. The problem is that public AI tools cannot access it. Building custom integrations is expensive and slow. And copying documents into AI tools creates governance nightmares.

UCM connects directly to SharePoint. Documents are converted to AI-readable format on demand, cached transparently, and delivered to AI agents within the boundaries your SharePoint permissions already define.

How It Works

SharePoint documents — readable by any AI agent

🤖

AI Agent

Searches or reads SharePoint via UCM tools

🔀

UCM SharePoint Layer

Validates permission · Calls Microsoft Graph API · Converts to readable format

📎

SharePoint

Document library — existing permissions respected

AI-Ready Content

Clean text · Cached · Images extracted · No raw binary files

Documents are converted from Office formats — Word, Excel, PowerPoint — to clean readable text automatically. The AI agent receives the document content directly. Conversion is cached so repeated reads are fast.

Key Capabilities

Read, search, and act — within your permissions

UCM's SharePoint integration uses Microsoft Graph API with on-behalf-of authentication. When an agent accesses SharePoint, it uses the credentials of the authenticated user — meaning SharePoint's existing permissions apply automatically.

A user who cannot see a document in SharePoint will not be able to read it through UCM either. No manual permission mapping. No risk of exposing restricted content.

  • Native SharePoint connection — no data migration or duplication required
  • Microsoft Search with KQL filtering — fast, relevant document discovery
  • Office document conversion — Word, Excel, PowerPoint all readable by AI
  • Transparent caching — fast responses on repeated access without SharePoint load
  • SharePoint permissions respected automatically — zero extra access control configuration
  • URL scope protection — agents can only access SharePoint sites they are authorised for

SharePoint Capabilities

Everything your AI needs to work with SharePoint

From document discovery to permission enforcement — UCM's SharePoint integration gives AI agents full access to your document libraries, safely and securely.

🔍

Microsoft Search

Uses the Microsoft Search API with KQL filtering for precise, fast document discovery. Filter by file type, date, folder, or content — same quality as SharePoint's native search.

📄

Document Conversion

Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files are converted to clean readable text automatically. AI agents read document content directly — no raw binary processing.

🗂️

Folder Navigation

Browse SharePoint folder hierarchies programmatically. AI agents can explore document libraries, navigate to specific folders, and list their contents.

🔒

Permission Enforcement

On-behalf-of authentication means SharePoint permissions are enforced automatically. Users see what they are authorised to see — nothing more.

Intelligent Caching

Converted documents are cached transparently. Repeated reads are fast, SharePoint load is reduced, and embedded images are extractable.
